Currently, Nkwa Foundation is constructing classrooms for the pupils of Ponkrom by providing a new school building with the necessary items (books, uniforms, chalks boards and furniture) to get them started. As of now, the Government of Ghana provides primary education up to grade six. However, due to a lack of available space, Ponkrom has only been able to provide up to grade four. This means that, the children must either walk to the next village or quit school and start working (usually the latter). Upon the completion of the structure, the Ministry of Education will provide teachers and other necessary teaching materials to facilitate the expansion of the school.
